What we have acheived with our legacies

Your gift really will make a difference.

We rely on people’s generosity to enable us to provide care, and legacies are a vital aspect of this support. They can account for up to 40% of our income each year and each gift is a valuable part of the overall services we continue to provide.

Most of the legacies we receive have been given with no specific requests made. This means that we can spend the money on patient care, enabling us to meet needs as they arise.

The money given can help in so many ways, for example:

• Going towards maintaining the high levels of staff that let us provide a special standard of care
• Creation and maintenance of the gardens for staff, volunteers, patients and their families to enjoy
• Building and maintaining the conservatory, used by patients and their families
• Staff skilled in bereavement counselling
• Developing new areas of patient care, eg Complementary therapies and transfusion services
• Giving patients and their families 24hour access to care and support whether at home or at the Hospice

Many of these vital services would not be possible without support from legacies, a lasting gift to the Hospice and the local community.
