Why not do something exhilarating? There are few things more thrilling than freefalling from 10,000 feet, and we've teamed up with Skyline so that you can jump for free whilst raising funds for our expert care and support.
We have places available on our Parachute Jump Day on Sunday 12th September at Brackley Airfield, 15 Miles North of Oxford.
Everyone there will be supporting Birmingham St Mary's Hospice so all can share the fear and increase the fun and know that you are supporting a great cause. Why not jump with a group of friends, colleagues or family members? Or jump in memory of a loved one? If you raise the minimum sponsorship of £395 the jump will be free!
Please contact Charlotte Sudbury on 0121 472 1191 for more details.
The easiest way to jump a tandem dive in done in a dual harness so you are securely attached to a qualified instructor at all times. Because the instructor takes care of the important parts of the jump, such as opening the parachute and landing, your preparation for the jump is usually only 30 minutes.
If you want to jump solo, you'll need to do a Static Line jump, where you jump from a plane at around 3,000 feet, and the parachute opens automatically by a static line.
The preparation and training for this kind of jump is usually a full day with the actual parachuting the following day, and its perfect for anyone who wants to jump solo and take the first steps towards jumping regularly.
So, if you want to do something exhilarating and help Birmingham St Mary's, just call Charlotte on 0121 472 1191.

On the 14th April 2009 myself, Helen Whitby, Karen Preece and Sue Terry threw ourselves out of a perfectly working aeroplane from 13,000ft over Northamptonshire in order to raise much needed funds for St. Mary's Hospice.
My family experienced the work of St. Mary's Hospice first hand when my Gran's illness became terminal. It was a truly awful time for all involved, from my Gran trying to be so strong, my mom (a nurse) who was helping to care for my Gran, to her much loved Family and Friends who could only look on. One of the most distressing parts is the restrictive nature of NHS visiting hours. Thanks to St. Mary's Hospice my Gran was able to leave the hospital ward, be surrounded by those she loved 24 hours a day and eventually pass away in her own bed with her family around her. St. Mary's also gave my Mom and Grandad (Papa) respite and my Gran dignity. Dignity - It doesn't sound like a lot to ask but it meant the world to my Gran. Thank you St. Mary's Hospice!!
With this as my motive and the work of St. Mary's known by all involved in the skydive, we were happy to find that on the day of the jump we had perfect weather conditions. We all thoroughly enjoyed freefalling at 120mph and then zooming about with our parachutes. As we came into land we all wanted to go back up and do it again! A good day was had by all and we were happy to raise coming up to £1500 so that other families can expereince the life changing work the St. Mary's Hospice does.
If you raise the recommended minimum your jump is free!
£395 for a tandem jump
£360 for a static jump
