Many people kindly choose to remember a loved one or friend by making a donation to the Hospice in their memory.
One way of doing this is to request that a donation be made to the hospice in place of flowers at a funeral.
Rather than sending flowers, people often choose to make a donation to charity as a more permanent way to pay tribute to and celebrate a life well lived. Most undertakers will organise this as part of their service, but donations can also be made directly to the hospice.
We have some special envelopes that can be personalised to assist in this method of collection. If you would like to know more or have some envelopes sent to you, please contact the fundraising team at the Hospice on 0121 472 1191, or email sarah.spellman@bsmh.org.uk
You can set up a personalised online donation page to collect donations made in memory of a loved one. At the JustGiving website, you can create your own remembrance page that friends and family can visit.
Some people like to be able to remember a loved one in a more communal way. We have a special partnership with Much Loved to enable friends and family to set up a tribute site especially for someone on the internet. This is a personal page that can only be viewed by people you have given permission to – people can leave and view messages, post photos and share memories.
This is such a valuable way of remembering someone, especially now that family members are often living at such a distance. The page can play a part in bringing everyone together during a difficult time.
Our annual Light up a Life ceremony is a lovely way to remember someone special.
If you send a donation to us by post, please let us know the name of the person that your donation is being made in memory of.
You can now set up a tribute site online with our partner, Much Loved. Please scroll down the page to find out more.
