Princess Alice Certificate

This is an 8 week distance learning course for Doctor’s, Nurses and Allied health care Professionals who want a recognised qualification in essential palliative care.

Course content includes:

Managing Patients with pain
Palliative Care and the Gastrointestinal System
Breaking Bad News and Ethical Issues
Emergencies in Palliative Care and Palliative Care in non – malignant disease
The Last 48 hours of life, Practical Issues and Bereavement

Candidates are required to complete a case study portfolio and an exam at the end of the course. The course is held at John Taylor Hospice, Erdington & Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, Selly Park and is supported by the Pan-Birmingham Palliative Care Net Work.
