European Certificate in Essential Palliative Care
This is an 8 week distance learning course for Doctor’s, Nurses and Allied health care Professionals who want a recognised qualification in essential palliative care.
The course is divided into five sections, each covering different aspects of essential palliative care.
Caring for Patient with Pain
Palliative Care and the Gastrointestinal System
Breaking Bad News and Ethical Issues
Clinical Emergencies in Palliative Care and Palliative Care in Non- malignant disease
The Last 48 hours of life, Practical Issues and Bereavement
Candidates are required to complete a case study portfolio, a written examination, key comptency and practical at the end of the course. The course is held at Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, Selly Park and is supported by the Pan-Birmingham Palliative Care Net Work.
