Aug 16, 2011
People from Solihull are being offered the chance to make a Will while supporting a good cause this September, thanks to a firm of kind-hearted lawyers.
Wallace Robinson & Morgan has thrown its weight behind Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice’s second Make a Will initiative, offering a free will-writing service in return for a donation to the charity.
The campaign runs for 11 days from September 5 and follows on from a similar week-long event last summer in which more than £10,000 was raised for the Hospice, which cares for people with life-limiting illnesses across Birmingham and Sandwell.
Valerie Warner, head of the Wills & Probate department at Wallace Robinson & Morgan in Solihull, said: “If you have thought about making or updating your will but are yet to get around to it, now is the time to call us. Wallace Robinson & Morgan can offer you the opportunity to have your Will professionally drawn up by a fully qualified solicitor and the firm will not be earning a penny!
“It's a fantastic offer that allows you to take care of your loved ones whilst supporting a really worthwhile local charity.”
Hospice Head of Fundraising and Marketing Caroline Taylor added: “I would like to welcome Wallace Robinson & Morgan to Birmingham St Mary’s Make a Will campaign, we really value their support and I’m sure they will make a big impact on the 2011 scheme.
“We were overwhelmed by the success of last year’s Make a Will Week. Nearly 70 people went to participating solicitors to make wills in aid of Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice. With more law firms onboard I’m confident we can beat last year.”
Other solicitors in the Solihull and Shirley area involved in Make a Will are Eric Bowes & Co and Pearcelegal Ltd, both taking part for the second year running.
Throughout the Make a Will campaign, solicitors will write free wills in return for a donation to Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice. The suggested donation is £80 for a single will or £130 for mirror wills.
Money raised through the Make a Will campaign will fund care for people with illnesses such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and Aids. It will also pay for bereavement support for relatives, no matter how young or old, for as long as is needed.
