Golf Teams Score Hole in One in Charity Fundraiser

May 12, 2010

Kind-hearted businesses from across Birmingham teed up for a good cause when they put together more than a dozen teams for a charity golf day in aid of the City’s only independent adult hospice.

Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice Charity Golf Day attracted 15 teams, who between them raised a fantastic £4,000. The money will be used towards providing palliative care to people with life-limiting illnesses across Birmingham and Sandwell.

Victory at the event at Harborne Golf Club was secured by Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice Charity Golf Day newcomers FleetMilne Residential.

The Hospice, which costs £6.3 million a year to run, half of which is dependent on public goodwill, is to stage a second charity golf day this year at Little Aston Golf Club on September 15.

Anyone interested in taking part is invited to contact Corporate Fundraising Administrator Yvonne McPhillips on 0121 4721191.
