The Fourth of July 2009

Entries still open...

This year's walk falls on 4th July so we decided on an American theme to celebrate Independence Day. If you want to join into the spirit of things, come dressed in American style or simply wear something.

Starting from the University of Birmingham, the 10km walk (6.2 miles if this sounds less) will begin at the stroke of midnight. The route takes you through Edgbaston, Harborne and Selly Oak returning to the campus in the early hours of Sunday morning.

This non-competitive sponsored walk is open to all aged 12 or over on 4th July 2009, all under 17’s must be accompanied by an adult.

Whilst many will be taking part as a fun challenge with friends, others might like to walk in memory of a loved one.

The entry fee is £10 per person

Places are limited so please complete and return the form ASAP.

You will find a team of marshals stationed at all key points on the route not only for your safety but to encourage you along the way. We would like to recruit as may marshals as we can (horses not provide but we're working on the badges) so if you are available please download the entry form above.
